Jorginho deserves to win the Ballon d'Or if Italy wins Euro 2020

Maurizio Sarri supports Jorginho as this year's Ballon d'Or winner. But he said the Italian defensive midfielder had to win Euro 2020 first.

Jorginho was Sarri's mainstay when he coached at Napoli and Chelsea. Unlike Sarri, Jorginho is currently still at Stamford Bridge and continues to be Thomas Tuchel's mainstay.

He started every game when Chelsea won the Champions League last season, and missed only once in the last 16 due to card accumulation. Moving on to Euro 2020, Jorginho is also Roberto Mancini's mainstay coach in the Italian national team.

Together with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Leonardo Bonucci, Jorginho is a player who has always appeared in the five matches that Gli Azzurri have gone through. His ability to organize attacks and defend so far is irreplaceable.

In the semifinal against Spain, Jorginho is predicted to return to play from the start. For the hard work of his former team, Sarri gave high praise.

"If he wins Euro 2020, he will be a candidate to win the Ballon d'Or. He is a calm player, that's why people don't understand him," Sarri told SportItalia.

"He makes things look easy on the pitch. That's his greatness. When I was coaching Chelsea, we managed to overtake Manchester City in the transfer competition to get him."

"Initially it was difficult to understand him, be it fans or journalists. But now he is very appreciated. Don't forget, he is also (vice) captain at Chelsea," explained Sarri, who is now coaching Lazio.

Manchester United have prepared funds for the transfer of Raphael Varane

Manchester United are starting to prepare concrete steps to get the services of Raphael Varane. The Red Devils have reportedly started preparing a budget to get the defender's services.

Manchester United have already secured their first transfer of the summer. They successfully secured the services of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

According to Ian McGarry, United are really serious about getting Varane's services this summer. "He [Varane] is a player who has won everything," McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast.

Must Be Chased

According to McGarry, United should indeed try to bring in Varane this summer.

He considers the current defender very worth it to be recruited considering the price is very affordable.

"He is a player whose contract expires next year, so at the moment he can be obtained at a very good price for the size of a top defender."

MU budget

According to McGarry, Manchester United have determined how much money Manchester United will prepare to recruit Varane.

He said the Red Devils would bring in the defender at a high enough price.

"From the information we got, Manchester United are ready to pay around 50 million euros for Varane. While Real Madrid don't want to let him go for free next year," he said.

Request Add

According to rumors circulating, Real Madrid asked MU management to increase the offer for Varane.

They want around 60 million euros for the services of the French national team player.

Manchester United joins the hunt for Miralem Pjanic

Miralem Pjanic's list of fans this summer is getting longer and longer. After Manchester United decided to go after the Barcelona player.

The 31-year-old midfielder reportedly wants to leave Barcelona. This is because last season he did not get enough playing hours from Ronald Koeman in the El Blaugrana squad.

So far there are two clubs that are rumored to be interested in securing Pjanic's services. They are Juventus and Chelsea.

According to Marca, the list of Pjanic fans is growing. This time, Manchester United are reportedly looking to try to sign the midfielder this summer.

Check out Pjanic's transfer situation below.

Strengthen Midfield

According to the report, Manchester United are currently looking for a new midfielder.

This is because Paul Pogba has the potential to leave this summer. While Nemanja Matic is also getting older and is rumored to be moving to Italy.

That's why Solskjaer needs an experienced midfielder and he thinks Pjanic has a good track record for the position.

Ready for Sale

The report claims that Barcelona are ready to listen to offers from Manchester United.

Ronald Koeman has reportedly allowed Barcelona to sell the midfielder. Because he is not included in the manager's plans for next season.

So he will be sold to reduce Barcelona's salary burden and also get transfer funds this summer.

Estimated dowry

Barcelona is rumored to be selling Pjanic at a relatively affordable price.

The midfielder will reportedly be released in the range of 30 million euros.

Euro Prediction: England vs Denmark 8 July 2021

The England national team will face the Danish national team in the semifinals of Euro 2020, Thursday (8/7/2021). This match will be held at Wembley Stadium, London. The winner will play either Italy or Spain in the final.

England won 1-0 over Croatia, drew 0-0 with Scotland, and won 1-0 over Czech Republic to win Group D. After that, Gareth Southgate's men beat Germany 2-0 in the last 16, then beat Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter-finals.

England's goal is still sterile at Euro 2020. Meanwhile, Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are their temporary top scorers with three goals each.

Denmark's journey is more winding. Having become the first team in Euro history to qualify for the knockout stages despite losing their first two group matches, Kasper Hjulmand's men beat Wales 4-0 in the last 16, and beat the Czech Republic 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

The lunge of the 1992 Euro champion is somewhat surprising. Having been hit by the collapse of Christian Eriksen in the first match, Simon Kjaer and his friends have now set foot in the semifinals.

England and Denmark last met in the UEFA Nations League in October 2020. At that time, they met at Wembley. England lost Harry Maguire who got a second yellow card, and Denmark won 1-0 through Christian Eriksen's penalty.

This time, meeting again at Wembley, they will fight for tickets to the Euro 2020 final. Who will come out victorious, England who have never reached the Euro final, or Denmark, which at the beginning of the tournament was not considered to be going that far?

5 things from Pacquiao-Marquez IV

LAS VEGAS -- Juan Manuel Marquez finally got the victory he wanted over Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night, and he achieved it in spectacular style. One of the most remarkable fight nights in recent history will be generating plenty of commentary and talking points for days and weeks to come. Here are five thoughts we have in the bout's warm afterglow.
1. Wow
OK, I'll grant you that "wow" isn't exactly a thing, or a lesson learned, or really any kind of statement at all. But still, wow. If Pacquiao-Marquez IV wasn't quite the best fight I've ever attended -- that honor still goes to, and likely always will go to, Corrales-Castillo I -- it was damn close. But there were maybe 4,000 people in the arena at the Mandalay Bay that epic night in 2005; by contrast, the MGM Grand Garden Arena -- capacity: nearly 17,000 -- was packed and jumping on Saturday, and the atmosphere was electric. Combine the quality of the boxing, the violent intensity of the exchanges, the backstory, the shocking ending and the insane energy in the building, and Marquez-Pacquiao IV was, in this writer's eyes, not only fight of the year but one of the best fights in recent years.
