FIFA Not Bless Election Committee

Selection Committee for the newly formed Thursday, April 14, 2011, did not get the blessing of FIFA. This is confirmed by the Director of Membership and Development Association FIFA, Thierry Regenass.

"Normalization Committee is a Select Committee. No need for another committee elections," he said in his email to VIVAnews Regenass.

The selection committee is formed through a meeting of 101 voters PSSI at Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, which abruptly changed its format to the congress. Originally, the Normalization Committee headed by Agum Gumelar just had a meeting with members of the PSSI. Formation of Election Committee was originally scheduled.

However, it turns out in practice arise insistence to form the Election Committee and the Committee of Appeals in that forum too. Two committees were formed similar to the results of PSSI Congress in Pekanbaru, Riau, which ended in chaos on 26 March.

FIFA even threatened to impose sanctions, if the Election Committee continued. "If PSSI not implementing the decisions of FIFA, there will be sanctions," said Regenass in electronic mail.

Not direstuinya outcome of the meeting at the Hotel Sultan was breaking the confidence of the elected members of the Election Committee yesterday. Vishnu Ward as Vice Chairman of the Election Committee said there was no excuse for FIFA to not approve it.

"For it is in accordance with the Statute of PSSI and FIFA that the decision should be taken at least a minimum of 50 percent plus one vote. It's been almost 95 percent," said Chairman Persebaya it.

In addition, FIFA also re-emphasized that the four candidates for the chairman of the PSSI has annulled by the Appeal Committee - Nurdin Halid, George Toisutta, Nirwan D. Bakrie, and Arifin Panigoro - can no longer follow the process of selecting the chairman of the PSSI future periods.

"The four men are barred from election (Chairman), will not join the elections," Regenass asserted. (eh)
